The Christuman Way

A Community of Souls...exploring the mystery of being human

A prayer in March

O Beloved Spirit,
The potency of the Earth is hidden
in the browns of this day
and in the stark, bare veins of trees
drinking in the daylight with not a leaf to behold.
The awakening of Spring is still buried
beneath the white frost on the hills
and the dead debris of the garden patches.
And yet…
there is a palpable, fierce excitement stirring--
one can sense an urgency moving below
and what seemed lost, now gaining ground
a momentum of renewed life taking hold.
Oh my, what blooms await us!
What colors will expound in all their glory!
What sprouts will vie to break forth into a first appearance!
And so we are on the brink of a resurgence--
of hope for renewed life after such a long winter’s death.

O Beloved Spirit,
It has been a year of loss and letting go.
A year of closing doors in hopes that others would open.
It’s been a year of troubling discontent
And a galvanizing, reactive anger from the disenchanted.
It has been a brooding season of not being sure—
a year of unknowing what was for-sure and for-certain.
Help us to take heart
in the vitality on this moment
And channel the light
Now stirring awake all this visible creation.
May it renew us.
May it recharge us.
May we take heart that
there is still never-before seen beauty to behold
Oh my, what blooms await us!
What colors will expound in all their glory!
What sprouts will vie to break forth into a first appearance!
And so we are on the brink of a resurgence--
of hope for renewed life
after such a long winter’s death.
May it be so.
