Prayer to Embrace Hope

O Beloved Spirit,
We are deep in the season of not knowing
unsettled by an uncertain hope,
bounded by a fear of dis-ease,
isolated by a reality we can’t wish away.
How we ache to be together again.

Certainly there are gifts to discover
in our times of isolation
but we have lost our footing
and are sure only of being unsure.
How we ache to be together again.

It feels as if a life-force is coalescing,
mounting within and around us
and we can only hope this interior time
is moving us to a birth, to a rebirth of Spirit.
How we ache to be together again.

And though we have our own private pains,
we are together laboring in the contraction of this moment.
In ways, our isolation is drawing us closer,
despite its imposition of separation and distance.
How we ache to be together again.

O Beloved Spirit,
Help us not to weary in our patient waiting.
Instead, may we allow this gestating time.
May we actively wait in anticipation for the birth.
May we submit to the call of the star
to return to the purity of our Origo
seeded in us from the beginning.
May we embrace the hope embedded in this season
until we are able to be together again. Amen
